Procurement analytics: how to read winning prices

Prozorro data is open, but raw tables tell you nothing. Here's how to read the procurement market — from unit price to competitor behaviour.

What market analytics shows

Analytics turns thousands of purchases into a picture: who buys, what exactly, from whom and at what price. It's the step from a single tender to understanding a whole market segment under your CPV code or nomenclature.

Winning price per unit

A contract sum means little without quantity. The unit price is the variable worth reading: it shows the real level buyers rely on and where the line of a competitive bid runs.

Buyers and competitors

A buyer profile shows what they purchase and how often; a participant profile shows where and at what prices they win. Together they tell you who you'll meet in a given tender and what to expect from them.

From a number to a bid

The point of analytics is the decision. Seeing the price level, competitor activity and the regional split, you set your price deliberately — not at random and not at a loss, but where you have a chance to win.

Questions and answers

Procurement analytics in brief

Where does the data come from?

From the open data of Prozorro public procurement. Analytics turns it into handy views by period, buyer, participant, CPV and region.

Can I export to Excel?

Yes. You can export a table with the view you need to a file, to work with it further or add it to a report.

Why look at competitors?

To understand the price level and who regularly wins in your segment. That helps you set your own price deliberately rather than by guesswork.
